LeftPAC is a brand new Federally registered political action committee (PAC) - different than the 527's like MoveOn which have done such a great job over the years. LeftPAC allows progressives to provide direct financial support to candidates and campaigns that are aligned with our issues.
The NRA has a PAC. Wall Street has a PAC. Even Wal-Mart. Whether we like it or not, it's the entities with big money that have outrageous influence over Capitol Hill.
It's time for progressives to show their strength. Together, we can have more influence than all of these organizations put together. It's past time for lawmakers to respect our political power and our electoral reach.
LeftPAC will push back on the conservative Tea-Party activists through targeted advocacy, public outreach and direct financial support for candidates that will take them on.
LeftPAC is going to work to help persuade potentially progressive legislators that
there are millions of citizens out there ready to support them if they make the right
decisions on our issues.
LeftPAC is not interested in simply preaching to the choir. Our aim is to expand the choir by speaking to audiences beyond existing progressives and reaching out to both legislators and members of the general public using compelling but rational arguments.
LeftPAC is going to carry on the push for accountability in government championed by
key members of congress and organizations such as PDA, Democrats.com, After Downing
Street, and others.
